A few details about booking, planning, delivery, and what to expect when working with JG Visual Co.
BOOKING
How do I book a session?
Start by submitting an inquiry through the Contact page.
Include the type of project, preferred timing, location, and anything useful about how the images will be used. From there, availability, scope, and next steps can be confirmed.
How far in advance should I book?
For portrait sessions, booking at least two to four weeks in advance is recommended.
Commercial, editorial, travel, or more involved productions may require additional planning time.
Availability can vary, so earlier inquiries are encouraged when working toward a specific date.
Do you require a retainer?
Yes.
A non-refundable retainer is required to reserve your date. Your session is not considered confirmed until the required agreement and payment have been completed.
Remaining balances and payment schedules will be outlined before the session.
How much does a session cost?
Pricing depends on the scope of the work.
Portrait sessions are structured differently from personal branding, editorial, and commercial commissions. Final pricing may reflect factors such as session length, location, creative direction, production needs, image usage, and deliverables.
Current options and relevant pricing will be provided after your inquiry.
What if I need to reschedule?
Rescheduling policies will be outlined in the booking agreement.
Whenever possible, communicate changes as early as possible. Last-minute changes, cancellations, or repeated rescheduling may affect retainers or require additional fees.
THE SESSION
JG Visual Co. focuses on portrait and editorial-style imagery for professionals, creatives, and brands.
Work may include individual portraiture, personal branding, commercial commissions, editorial projects, events, and select creative collaborations.
Where are you based?
JG Visual Co. is based in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Sessions are available throughout the Charlotte area, with select travel commissions considered depending on the project.
Do you help with creative direction?
Yes.
Direction can include decisions around location, wardrobe, mood, composition, visual references, and how the images should ultimately communicate.
The amount of direction depends on the project, but the process always begins with understanding how you want to be seen.
I’m not comfortable in front of the camera. Is that a problem?
No.
You do not need to arrive knowing how to pose.
Direction is part of the process. The goal is not to force a performance, but to create photographs that feel deliberate, natural to the person, and appropriate for the intended use.
Can you help me choose what to wear?
Yes.
Wardrobe should support the purpose of the photographs rather than compete with them.
Guidance can be provided around color, silhouette, layering, texture, and overall visual direction before the session.
Do you provide hair, makeup, or styling?
Hair, makeup, and wardrobe styling are not automatically included unless stated as part of the project.
For productions that require additional creative support, outside collaborators may be recommended or incorporated into the scope.
Do you have a studio?
JG Visual Co. works across studio, interior, and location environments depending on the needs of the session.
If a studio is required, an appropriate space can be selected during planning. Studio fees may be included separately depending on the project.
Can we shoot on location?
Yes.
Location is often part of the visual language of the photographs.
Sessions may take place outdoors, within a client’s space, at a rented studio, or in another environment chosen specifically for the project.
Some locations may require permits, reservations, or additional fees.
What happens if the weather is bad?
For outdoor sessions, weather conditions are monitored as the session approaches.
If conditions would materially affect the work or create unsafe circumstances, the session may be moved, adjusted, or rescheduled.
How long are sessions?
Session length varies by project.
A focused portrait session may require relatively little time, while branding, editorial, or commercial productions may involve multiple looks, locations, or a longer shooting schedule.
Your expected session length will be established before booking.
Can I bring someone with me?
For individual portrait sessions, one guest may generally attend when the location and production allow.
Larger groups, teams, or additional participants should be discussed beforehand so the session can be planned appropriately.
What if I’m late?
Session time is reserved specifically for your project.
Late arrival may reduce the available shooting time when another session, rental, permit, or location schedule prevents extending the appointment.
Can you recreate a photo I found online?
Reference images are welcome as a way to communicate mood, lighting, styling, or direction.
The objective, however, is not to reproduce another photographer’s work exactly. References should help define the visual language while allowing the final photographs to remain specific to you and the project.
DELIVERY
How many images will I receive?
The number of final images depends on the session or commission.
JG Visual Co. delivers a curated selection of finished photographs rather than every frame created during the shoot.
Specific deliverables will be outlined before the project begins.
Do you provide RAW or unedited files?
No.
RAW files and unfinished photographs are not part of the final deliverables.
The finished image includes selection, color, tonal treatment, and retouching as part of the complete photographic process.
Are the images retouched?
Yes.
Final photographs receive professional color and tonal adjustments along with appropriate retouching.
The intention is refinement rather than changing someone into a different person. Skin, texture, character, and individual features should still feel human.
How long does delivery take?
Turnaround depends on the type and scale of the project.
An estimated delivery window will be provided before the session. Larger commercial or editorial projects may require more time than individual portrait sessions.
How will I receive my photographs?
Final photographs are delivered digitally through an online gallery or designated delivery platform.
Download and usage information will be provided with the completed gallery.
Can I choose my own photographs?
Selection may vary depending on the service.
Some sessions may allow client selections from proofs, while others are delivered as a photographer-curated final edit.
The selection process will be explained before booking.
USAGE + PRIVACY
Can I post the photographs online?
Personal portrait clients may share their delivered photographs online for personal use.
Commercial, advertising, publication, or other business uses may require specific licensing terms depending on the project.
Usage will be clarified as part of the agreement.
Will my photographs be posted publicly?
JG Visual Co. may request permission to share selected work through its portfolio, website, social platforms, publications, or promotional materials.
Any privacy requirements should be communicated before the project begins, particularly for confidential or unreleased commercial work.
COMMISSIONS
Can a brand or business hire JG Visual Co.?
Yes.
JG Visual Co. works with businesses, entrepreneurs, organizations, and creative teams on imagery intended for websites, campaigns, social platforms, editorial use, and other brand applications.
Commercial inquiries should include as much information as possible about the project and intended image usage.
Do you photograph events?
Select events are accepted when the assignment aligns with the work and availability.
For event inquiries, include the date, location, expected coverage time, type of event, and intended use of the photographs.
Do you travel?
Yes, selectively.
Travel commissions are considered based on location, schedule, scope, and production requirements. Travel expenses may be added to the project cost.
